race day instructions

HEADSETS and similar devices are prohibited by USA Track & Field regulations. USATF provides insurance for the Mother’s Day 5K, and we must follow their rules. Thanks for your cooperation! 

PARKING is plentiful in Corporate Woods. Enter Corporate Woods from either Antioch or College Boulevard. From Antioch, enter on Indian Creek Parkway or 110th Street. From College Blvd, enter on Benson, Grandview, Indian Creek Parkway, or Mastin. Plan to arrive no later than 7:30 a.m. Overland Park Police will restrict traffic on the course from 7:30 to 8:30.

START & FINISH
: On Indian Creek Parkway, directly across from Building 40

RACE
NUMBER: Pin it on the front of your shirt. Do not pin through the bottom hole.

WATER
will be available at the Start/Finish and on the course near the two mile-mark.

CLOTHING CHECK
will be available at the KC Express table. Label your gym bag with your name. Please leave valuables at home or locked in the trunk of your vehicle.

COURSE SAFETY
is important. Although the course is monitored by Overland Park Police and our volunteers, please be careful, follow instructions, and watch out for vehicles.

POST-RACE ACTIVITIES
include refreshments, music, children’s activity area, information booths, and prize drawings. We hope you will stay and enjoy the festivities.

PRIZE DRAWINGS:
While you’re out on the course, we’ll be drawing names to give away some of our fabulous door prizes.  Be sure to check the Prize Board when you get back to see if you have already won a prize. More wonderful door prize giveaways will be chosen at the awards ceremony.  You must be present to win.

AWARDS CEREMONY
starts at approximately 9:15 a.m. Awards are for the top three women overall, top masters, and the top three women in 5-year age groups.

RESULTS
will be available race day at www.mararunning.org.

REMEMBER
, the race will take place rain or shine, but in case of emergency, the race director reserves the right to cancel or amend the race.

For everyone’s safety, NO HEADSETS, skates, bicycles, dogs, or motorized vehicles are allowed on the course.  Participants with strollers or baby joggers may walk only.
